thanks guys for your suggestions. the memory card and graphic card used to work upto now. I thuahgt that the graphics card is a problem. so I just trashsed that. but I have 4 1 gb memory cards, and all of them are not working. so I would suspect if anyone of them should atleast work. so I dont know whether it is mother board or memory problem now.

the mother board is having a video out built in so I am not worried about the video card but the memory card as these are not built in but external to the mother board.

Are you adding memory and the video card? Or was it originally installed on this board?

Okay here is a link to a free memory tester from Microsoft. I have used it in the past and it is a great tester. If all pass this test then the problem is the motherboard. Hope this helps.

Can some one please let me know the name of the motherboard supporting Pentium 4 1.5 Ghz processor as well as Intel Core duo series of processors. Thanks, Ajay

The chips to which you refer are incompatible with respect to the socket used for each as well as the fact that Core duo and Pentium 4 1.5 GHz chips are from separate generations, the latter having been obsolescent since 2003. Therefore, there is no single motherboard that supports both, and the Pentium 4, Socket 478 boards can be obtained from various aftermarket sources.

Here is an example of the kind of board you need for your Pentium 4.

Here is a link to a website that identifies the specs for your motherboard, and also identifies the type of processors that are compatible with your motherboard. It is Intel Core 2 duo/ Intel Core 2 duo Extreme capable.

It looks like you have a good candidate for a gaming pc, in my opinion. I would suggest that you upgrade the memory to its max of 4 GB. This link also has a list of all compatible memory modules for your motherboard, If you click on a memory module, there is an option on the next page to tell you where you can buy it and for how much.
