SS101TX8EU & SH100TX8EU

By Beresford - usenet poster

I have the following configuration :

SS101TX8EU with : 2 PC's with a PILA8461
1 SR10TPSEU
1 SE10TEU
on another location

SH100TX8EU with : 5 PC's with a PILA8461.

I can't connect the SS101TX8EU & SH100TX8EU, i tried every port on both
devices, using a normal and/or crossover cable. All the cables are
CAT5.
When i connect one cable from the SS101TX8EU straight to a PC, there is
no problem.

What can i do to solve this problem?

Hi again,

Assuming these workstations are connecting successfully at 100Mbps to the hub or
switch, then if you take the same cable used for that 100Mbps connection, and connect
one side to the "out to hub" port on the hub, and connect it to any port on the
switch EXCEPT the "out to hub" port, does it work? I am trying to eliminate a cable
issue, either pairing, or pinout.

If this still does not work, please contact us by telephone. From North America call

Hello Will,

The hub & the switch both works fine with a PC, the problem is to connect the hub
to the switch. I think there must be a problem in the hub or the switch. How
can i test it?

Hi Ronny,

Assuming you can also connect the SH100TX8 to a PC with the same cable, then
all that should be required would be to use the "out to hub" port on the hub,
and connect it to one of the standard switch ports, using a straight through
CAT 5 cable. Or, connect any of the standard ports on either hub together
with a CAT 5 crossover cable. Make sure they are all wired correctly
according to # and
otherwise, I am not sure what could be the problem. Is the above what you
have already tried? And does the hub work correctly with the PC's?
