    ok......here is your solution......

    1) turn off and unplug
    2) Take out all cartridges, put all away inside a carton box!!! Important.
    3) Clean in side with acetone and inject some drop in side the hole on the bottom .that one is for the air replacement. The other male shape is the way ink goes to the injector. Don’t touch this one.
    4) Plug and turn on(with out any cartridge)
    5) Now you have message, black near empty, yellow, cyan, and magenta near empty.
    6) In menu, start cleaning all ink.
    7) When finish you have same message, don’t worry.
    8) Turn off (with out unplugging)
    9) Put cartridge back
    10) Turn on
    11) Let the machine do its job.
    12) In menu, choose –cleaning all cartridge.
    13) Information((( It take longer ,because machine should remove air which stuck in pipe when we have cleaned with out having cartridge)
    14) Almost finished.

** Remember if ink is dry in air pipe inside the place where cartridge install. You should clean it very well.
** make sure all cartridges are refilled or are new, or hase some inke inside.

    Good luck!!!

My yellow ink ran out and I finally replaced all inks this evening. Now, with all new inks, I keep getting a message that the yellow needs to be replaced. Any suggestions? I've turned off the printer,...

I had the same problem with mine but I bought a refill cartridge instead of a new one and went through three refilled cartridges when I found that it was that I needed a brand new one. For some reason, the HP printers and some other printers need to know that you are using the same brand of ink as the printer. if it is another brand it wont except it and it wont let you print anything! So make sure it is a brand new hp brand ;)

How to Override Ink Level Gauge When Using Refilled Cartridges

Above link great.
If you have a newer print cartridge cart, look for the little window. I put a sticker over the little window on the Brother (innobella) LC38 cartridge cart and it worked great :)
Despite finding a fix for this problem, I think this is a rip off setting on the brother printers and I will never buy another Brother printer for this reason.

Display says I am out of yellow,

Hi, since you've already replace the yellow ink cartridge for several times and its not recognize. Your printer might have a defective printhead. You may take your printer to the nearest HP service center in your area so that they can look on your printer further.

Dissapearing yellow

I run about 100+ canon printers from s800 up to the new ip4500.
I have met and solved almost every problem I find described on the web. Your problem with the disappearing yellow ink can be only one thing. The ink cartridge has not been sealed after you injected the ink. If there is even the smallest avenue for air to get into the cartridge it will allow the ink to flow very rapidly back out of the cartridge and into the waste ink pads in the bottom of the printer. You won't be able to see a puddle of ink under the printer until much later when you have done many cleanings or installed many leaky cartridges.

MFC 640CW not refilling with new ink cart.

Unplug printer from power. Wait a minute. Take all carts out. Plug machine to power. mfc demands carts. Reinsert carts (have a look if they all filled with ink!!). If asked press 2 (No change) despite you use a new cart press 1 Yes cart changed.

Should work!
