I have the same problem as you.
Downloaded from the side of the LG "Phone Upgrade" software and followed the instructions, during the upgrade something went wrong. I got the message that the phone is not connected to the PC, etc.
After that the phone made known to you the message "please wait".
I waited a few hours, the phone consumed battery and close.
So then I thought to try it again the update (without hope). The program said that the phone is not connected to the PC. The Windows said to me "unknown device" etc.
After that connecting the phone cable directly into PC (without the usb hub) and then the "Phone update" understood that the device had a problem and went into emergency mode.
He requested the s/n and the IMEI of the device (noted somewhere before) after infertility and instructions went out to the screen (unplug the phone, took battery, battery installation, connect phone 2-3 times in about 92% of the update process) the phone still not working.

I tried the update on my Vista pc and it kept doing what you described, so i tried it on my XP laptop and it worked, i dont no if it's the XP that did it or my USB ports on my laptop are better.

I have tried this. Not worked for me.
I sent the phone in service, could not fix and had to change board (new IMEI, etc.). The phone that I sent back, after 15 days, is the same (not replacement) with a different IMEI, and it works.

Why wont my Lg kc910 send on a vodafone network and i have put in the text message centre which is 021600600

You have not mentioned the network area where you are located and if the service provider has given you the message center number to be put into the message settings, then the phone must be able to send the message. if not remove and delete any other center number that was entered earlier also you try and reset the phone.

LG KC910, 'Please wait' message been on for a while after updating failed. tried everything above. removed sim. only thing is haven't got another sim to put in. please help. not impressed with shoddy LG

've just had a nightmare trying to update my KC910 using the LG Software Updater. As described in a couple of postings here... it locks up with a "Please Wait" message. You can't get past this point until it's fixed.

I fixed it (after good advice here) by:
  • downloading the Manual and Software Updater from http://uk.lgmobile.com/web/web.product.manualSoftwareRF.laf.
  • removing the battery and sim.
  • installing the USB driver first using the Updater.
  • choosing Support->Emergency Recovery
  • entering my IMEI and SN
  • starting the upgrade (a different application starts) before connecting cable.
  • entering my IMEI and SN again
  • allow app to fail
  • connect cable - click "retry".
At this point the upgrade proceeded well. It took about 20 minutes.
