This, probably, is a power issue on the printer. Unplug the printer from the computer. Unplug the power supply from the printer (it's the black box behind the printer where the power cord is attached). Try not to use any power strips or extensions for the power cord. If possible, plug the power cord straight to the wall outlet. With the power cord plugged in straight to the power outlet, plug the power supply back in the printer. That should refresh the printer. When everything's powered on, plug printer to computer. Hope this helps. If you need more assistance, leave a comment and I'll get back to it. Thanks.
Actually, the printer's power cord should be plugged in to a power source having 110-220V output. The power supply (the black box behind the printer where the power cord is attached) converts that power to 30V. Basically, if your wall outlet has power output of 110-220V, you won't need a transformer to convert that to 30V. That's the job of the printer's power supply. Hope this helps. If you need more clarification, place a comment so I can get back to it. Thanks.
Turns out I'd never had a problem in the first place. Lexmark - predictably - had people like me in mind when they designed there milti function printers particularly the X9350 Series. All I ever had to do was plug in a phone line into the correct port on the back of the prntr and the set-up software that I installed when I bought it does all the rest. It's terrific! The printer's software automatically found and configured my laptop and activated the fax function in the productivity suite the comes with the printer. There seem to be a lot of smart people at Lexmark. They've impressed the hell out of me.
