Question about Kohler K-15076-P-7 Coralais Decorator kitchen sink faucet with matching fin

1 Answer

My Kohler Coralais faucet is slow on the hot side.

My Kohler Coralais (i think) faucet is slow on the hot side. I removed the supply and tried to clear any blockage, but it only worked for a second. Then I ran a bottle brush up the supply tube, but I did not notice a change. Now, it is getting slower. I don't have a way to pressurize the spigot side to try and clear the blockage in reverse flow, so Im thinking I am going to have to take it apart and clear the blockage or replace a failed seal or screen. Any suggestions or sources of repair steps available.

From the sender:  I backflushed the faucet with a female to female hose coupling thru the open hot supply and viola.  It works fine now.  The house was built in 1927 and the pipes must have been iron.  there were several small black "rocks" plugging the works that came out in no time.  It cost about two bucks and an hour of messing around getting the right hardware.

Did you remember to fully open the supply line valve under the sink after reattaching hose? Do you have an older home with worn out or corroding pipes? After replacing my bathroom faucet with a new fixture, I noticed that after a few weeks the hot water handle started operating a little gritty. I removed the handle and found rust particles had come thru the line and started to clog the faucet.

How do you remove the lever of a kitchen kohler clairette faucet, it seems to be stuck

On the front of the faucet handle, there is a small plastic cover with an emblem on it. Gently pry it off with a sharp knife blade. Next you will notice a small "allen" screw head. Remove it by turning it counter clockwise until it's loose. (lefty loosie - righty tighty) Lift the handle straight up to remove.

Where can I get a new valve cartridge for our Kohler Coralais R15160-CP faucet? It keeps flowing more slowly and I have cleaned all the filters in the pull out head, etc. The dishwasher on the same line...

Most cartridge's are specific to their faucet and need to be ordered from the manufacturer. Home Depot or another place like that, that carries Kohler plumbing supplies should be able to get one for you and may even have one in stock. Good luck.

Can't remove the spout of a Kohler K-15176 faucet to get to the O-rings to replace them. The spout seems to be frozen and can't twist or lift it off.

The "o" rings are swelled up and causing it to be frozen. After you remove faucet handle and Collar that holds main body on, you may put some penetrating oil like 3 in 1 oil around sides and wait 5 minutes, next it takes all elbow grease to try and twist and turn to break the "o" rings and free it up to remove. It has to be forced and may take some strength, but it will come up.

Kohler Coralais K 15160 The body has a machined hole in the back, about the diameter of a toothpick. It has begun to leak water when the faucet is turned on, however this occurs once in awhile.

The front of the handle has a plastic button which can be removed with your thumb nail or tooth pick. Once the button is removed use a 1/8 allen wrench to remove the handle. Remove the decretive sleeve to access the top of the valve. Tighten the valve stem nut and reassemble. It the problem persists you may need a new valve or rubber seal. The best thing about Kohler is they offer a lifetime no leak warranty. I personally will buy Kohler faucets and toilets because of the quality and warranty. Delta has some hi end products but the support and warranty policies will make you never want to service a Delta product again. So if the faucet still leaks just call 1-800-456-4537, and they will send you a new faucet or parts.

Water volume slowed down

Sounds like you may possibly have some sediments in the screen on the spray head. When you pull the head out you can disconnect it from the flex supply line and see if the water pressure is okay with out the head connected. This will either confirm it is in the spray head or valve body.

Leaking kohler faucet

Where the spout pivots on the main body, there are a couple of washers, you can replace these washers pretty easily by removing the handle and then the "cover" from the unit. The water has to be shut off before you do this. I would take this oppurtunity to replace all the washers.
