Question about Canon PIXMA MP530 All-In-One InkJet Printer
SOURCE: Canon Pixma MP530 All-In-One
I had contacted Canon to resolve my problem.
Through the technician I am informed that the printer has to be sent back for service as one of the 4 pins on print-head print has dropped off leaving only 3pins that is why the error code U043 simply occur which is why replacing another new ink cartridge does not resolve the issue.
I have understand from him that:-

Try to open and close the main cover a bit, ... ink recognition will start and may solve the probleme ...
... otherwise remove the cartridge and clean the chip contacts e.g. with spirit
Maybe also pressing the stop/reset-button for >10s will also help to continue printing, but in this case the fill level of the cartridge will no longer be shown

I have this Canon MP600 using unchipped cartridges. Once you have changed the chip over onto the catridge and inseted it should stop flashing which indicates the cartridge is located. The printer will not tell you the level of ink until you run out. When changing the chip over from original cartridge onto unchipped ensure it is not damaged and fitting properly other wise the error sign will show. The printer should print without any problems, i know you can not disable the ink monitoring system. Hope this is some help Mr T

With printer powered ON, remove the front paper tray and lift the scanner unit fully up, to expose the printheads.
Then open the inner cover, once the printhead/ink tank assemblage has stopped moving into position(... with caution, remembering that it is powered on. Don't touch metal anything, it could shock you - or be damaged sightly by being touched.)
Then, press down on each ink tank's top surface where it says PUSH, firmly. If any or all snap into place, then there's your fix!
Then check to be sure that all lights on the front face of the print tanks are lit, like the first 3 on the left.
<2> is improperly installed, so the light on the front is dark. <1> are OK, lights on.
How are the lights on yours?
If they're all ON, then that part's OK. If any are flashing or OFF, let me know... and try popping the ink tank(s) in question out and looking to make sure all tape has been removed/that nothing obscures the metal contacts [-don't touch them!] or etc.Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
