It sounds like a game glitch, but you should try checking your options in the start menu. If it's not any of your settings, save and reset the game. There are characters (like at Castle Town) that are unimportant characters that you can't talk to anyways.

How can I edit an address I already have stored in my IBM Wheewriter 6 without deleting it entirely and retype it in and storing it again?

You do not have to purchase a manual for this one job. There is a free copy at http://images.lexmark.com/publications/pdfs/2007/index/en.html
Just go to the bottom of the page for "Typewriters" and choose your model. I believe the answer you are looking for is on page 3-25. I have looked at it myself. Here are the steps.

Always open the storage before making a revision.
- The store light must be on.
Pressing Store + the number (1 to 99) always opens storage at the beginning of a job.
If you play back too far or want to start over:
1. Press Play to stop playback
2. Press Store + the number (1 through 99)
3. Press Play. (Playback starts again at the beginning of the job.)

Use the Correction key to erase unwanted carrier returns from Stored job:
1. Press Play or Play+Spacebar until the carrier return playb
2. Press the correction key.

After making a revision hold down Play while you press and release the Spacebar several times to make sure the next few characters play back correctly.

When revising indented jobs, be sure to stop playback at the word or character you want to revise. Remember, you cannot use the Correction key to erase characters typed before you press Code+Tab or Code+Crtn. Therefore, if you play back too far, you may need to start playing back again from the beginning of the job.

Let me know if there is anything else needed.

My LB 615 is printing just the top part of each character - I have a hunch one of my 'new people' may have accidentally changed a setting on the FLT or other keypad keys. Any suggestions?

The FLT setting would affect character spacing left to right by setting the distance the hammer has to move to get to the platen.
Phasing affects character formation by adjusting the timing of the hammer.
If your characters are missing the tops of all of the characters your band has been moved from the correct tracking on the band pulleys.
Adjsutment is made with the blue lever on the right Idler Pulley, Flip the lever down to release tension and slide the band back to the pulley flanges. LIft the lever and spin the pulleys counterclockwise a few rotations. Make sure the band doesn't "walk" out again as that would indicate a problem you would need tools to fix.
Also make sure the ribbon is tracking properly as that can cause poor character formation.
