Question about Logitech Webcam
Hey im having problems with making video calls through windows live messenger. the video works fine but no sound is recorded by my mic... i am running windows vista if relevant. during video callingi i can hear the other persons voive, but they cannot hear me . I have to text while they are speaking to me.
MIC SET-UP :- VISTA
Right click on speaker icon in System Tray Select "Playback Devices" The speaker icon ( checked as working) and volume level graph should be visible Right click on the volume graph and click "Test" Left hand speakers followed by right hand should be heard
SET MIC DEFAULT & TEST
Click "Recording" tab. Set required mic as default - click on mic font to highlight and click "Properties" In lower dropbox display "Use this device enable" click OK Click "Levels" tab and set slider to 80% ( adjust to suit later) Return to "Recording". Test mic by speaking and make sure volume graph displays
CONFIGURE TO MSN
Re-boot the webcam/mic by unplugging and plugging it back in again - Its always good practice to do this before you open MSN. If you have been using your webcam in another program, it can remain hooked up to the old program and you will get an error message " Unable to find webcam or being used elsewhere"
Click ( > ) Open Menu >Tools > Audio & Video set-up > Set mic as default and run through audio set-up > Next > set webcam as default and adjust Webcam Settings > Finish

Also send this to your family
and friends so they have their computer setup properly.
Web Camera’s have to be setup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to broadcast on messengers or Skype.
Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for the Audio and Video to function properly.
To install Windows Live Messenger, double click on this site to download then install. (http://www.soft32.com/download_30.html )
Windows Live Messenger:
When done both the Audio and Video will function properly so you can chat and see family or friends you are connected to.
Hope this helps. Bud
