Question about Philips GOGEAR SA6045 MP3 Player

Stopped playing I have Phillips MP 3 Players - Go Gear 4MB which was purchased last July. It seems the player is completely dead and won't even charge. What is the problem? I submitted the warranty but did not make a copy. Can you help me?Thanks!

Your serial number that is located on the sticker on the back of the GoGear is enough to claim your warranty if these methods don't work:
Triple Reset for Philips’ GoGear:

Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.

The player is faulty, I suggest you purchase another player as the cost of repairing the player may not be worth the cost.

I have a phillips mp4 player. How do you turn it off? Otherwise it just seems to keep running even when I take out the headset plug and lock it. So it just sucks the battery.


I believe there is a button on the side where you hold down and that should turn it off, but you have to hold down button for it to shut off, if not that button then try another.

My Phillips GoGear MP4 player stopped updating at 99% and will not continue.


1. Launch Philips Songbird program from Windows start menu. The program can be found on GoGear Accessories disk, or you can download it from:
http://www.userdrivers.com/MP3-Player/Philips-Songbird-1-7-2-Build-1667-for-Windows-XP-Vista-7/

2. Reset your GoGear player while holding Volume+ key and immediately connect it to computer. (You should do it before "Udating at ..." message appears.)

3. From Songbird menu choose Tools -> Repair my GoGear Vibe.

4. Follow the instructions.

2 GB c250 MP 3 Player was purchased by us for my son. Only one ear piece has been working ever since we purchased the player and my son felt it was the earphones, so thus we purchased others. He didn't...


im having the same problem. I just got my mp3 today. Luckily though mine was on sale for 16$. So far I have found no solution. Obviously mp3 players are over rated...we shoulda all just stuck with walkmans and portable cd players.
