Yellow strip I have a yellow strip on my incoming camera feed when I am on skype calls

Hi there, you appear to have a similar issue to me. I posted my problem today (2nd March) under the title, "web cam colour banding issue", posted by timoi. We are both using Skype, but if I have read your post correctly you are getting the colour problem on your pc whereas for me it is the other person who sees the yellow band. Have you used the cam with more than 1 person? Do you get the same issue from anyone you Skype with? I have only called 1 person so far so nothing to compare. Any thoughts? Cheers, T.

The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

I guess this has something to do with the status of your bandwidth. It might be that your incoming bandwidth is congested and it's not able to handle incoming voice traffic.
To verify if it's a bandwidth issue please visit this site to check your upload and download speeds.
Hope this helps . . .

Incoming Skype Picture Freezes and/or Jumps

You are not the only one. I have a gorup of 6 people, on Vista, XP, with QuickCamPros and other brands and we communicate daily. We are ALL having the same problem as a result of the last Skype update.

It is NOT your system, it's Skype's issue. Do like we do and in the lower right corner of your screen you can report the quality of the call. Keep doing it over and over and maybe they'll do something about it!

Yellow vertical band at center of incoming video

Looking through a Skype forum thread, there appears to be at least 2 issues. First, for Logitech cam users you can try the following:

- Go to Skype / Tools / Options / Video Settings / Webcam settings / Advanced.
The contents of this window will vary depending on the particular model of camera that you have. If there are options for "Low Light Boost" and "Automatic Gain Control", turn them off. Adjust the manual sliders in the window to get reasonable video quality.

This seems to work for some people.

Then there is the more fundamental issue of Skype driver. Here is the link to the thread (http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=97038) but the essence is that the older the driver the more likely the issue. Even with the latest driver it is not a guaranteed fix, but many people seem to suggest that downloading the latest drivers works for at least some of the time. Clearly Skype have known about this for a while and are dragging their heels sorting it out.

Hope this helps, T.
