Question about Canon GL2 Mini DV Digital Camcorder

1 Answer

GL2 drops in blue tint or yellow blocks

GL2 suddenly has been casting a blue tint on the image or flashes blocks of yellow. I will be filming something and then the whole scene going blue. Nice special effect perhaps, but looks very odd when doing interviews. Also will flash chucks of yellow behind the subject or as boxes of yellow. Very sporadic, yellow lasting a split second or the blue may last several minutes.

Your GL2 has a case of clogged heads. If the clogging is minor, you can clean by using head cleaning tape. 1.Open the tape door and blow out any dusts present. 2. run tape cleaner for about 10 seconds but NO MORE. Hope it works. -James. Have you checked your camera's white balance setting ? Try setting it to 'Auto' and see if that helps. If not, then there may be a fault in the camera's electronics, which would indicate repair or replacement.

This is due to the problem with the active component (capacitor) in the Blue beam generator. It might gone, so you better replace the same or take it to the authorized service station.

Why are my prints only printing the reds and blues in photos?

Please next time put the question in the correct category. I still will try to help you.
If your printer does not tell you any cartridge is empty, and it still does not use that colour it could be the nozzles of one cartridge are blocked. Check this by printing a test page, as told in the user manual. Sometimes called an alignment print.
Then check if all colours appear correct. Looks like yellow is not working correct.

Red and blue tint

Often "grayscale" is achieved by mixing some of your colors (CYM) to form composite black and gray - not necessarily just black from your black cartridge. Often there is some yellow used beneath the black -- so if you are getting a red or blue tint, it could mean something as simple as being low on yellow ink.

My pictures have a purple tint to them

You're either using old/expired film, or taking photos during dusk. Color film is balanced for daylight photography. Using it under conditions other than that will result in varying color casts on the resulting images.

Fluorescent lighting: Greenish
Indoor bulbs: Reddish/orange
Outdoor at night/dusk: Blueish/purpla
Ourdoor at dawn: Pink/blue

Or, you may have just gotten bad print work done. Try a different lab.

Hi,

In most cases it's bad lighting or the lens is dirty.

LCD projector 101, your blue device is dying inside of projector. Consider purchasing a dlp based product, they do not suffer from color decay.

Really you are blessed , most lcds last about 3-4000 hours or 4 lamp changes. good luck
