Spoolsv.exe freezes with wireless print server

By Luisa_K - usenet poster

Someone please help me. I have an HP 5610v all in one printer and bought a
D-link DPR-1260 to wireless connect to the printer. I have installed it and
everything works fine when I am connected to the print server by network
cable. When I try to go wireless I can print small documents several times or
one large document and eventually the spoolsv.exe in xp will start using all
the system resources and the document will not finish. As I said everything
prints fine when the network cable is attached to my laptop to the print
server and then to the printer but when the network cable is unattached and I
try to go wireless everything goes nuts. I have contacted d-link and they say
their product is working fine and that it is a problem with the print spooler
in xp. Can someone please tell me how to fix this problem so I don't have to
carry my laptop to the printer to print. That is why I bought the print
server.

Alan, I fixed the problem last night. It was a problem in the firmware from
D-link and a conflict with IE 7. The firmware upgrade resolved the problem.
Thanks

What type of printer port are you using? I'd disable any Bidirectional
communication on the port and see if you get better throughput.
