The only way that i have found to get the video off the camcorder from the tape is plug an audio video cable in the side of the camera then get a cable that will hook to your video card. then you will need some software that will record what ever video/audio is playing on your computer.

Hi, I managed to down load mine by connecting with a firewire and setting the camera to playback mode (not PC), opening imovie, turning the camcorder on and selecting file -' import from camera". a screen came up then I started playback on the camcorder and was able to select import from the screen on the imac.
try to use USB to plug your device to your computer. make sure that you have an installed driver for your camcorder to recognize your device on your pc. all brand new camcorder came with an installation software cd. now your ready to transfer your video to your computer. use any movie maker application like ulead movie maker, nero movie maker or windows movie maker edit it and save it. burn it to your vcd or dvd burner to play on your dvd player. if you dont have a driver i will find one for you. hope that helps!
You can find a charger at Wal-Mart for about $45 that includes a car charger. I just got mine there after searching Best Buy and Circuit City to no avail! Just make sure to check the back of the case for compatibility with the battery and/or camcorder.
