Hello, I have a canon A95. I know it's not very valuable in today's tech climate but when I bought it I paid around 250-300 for it. I'd like to salvage it if I can. Repair shops won't give...

This is a sensor problem and to get it repaired would cost you as much as a brand new camera (which would have many more really cool features).

Tip

If you have blurry "melted" images RECALL until 9/30/2008

One day my camera started looking very blurry, images looked like everything was melting. This is a know issue with this model.
Go to Sony's web site, type in model of camera and call the number to Support ASAP. Sony is offering a fix until 9/30/2008.

Everything looks fine through the viewfinder but when I take the picture it is all pink and droopy and looks like melted wax. You can't even tell what the picture is!

Your camera has a defective CCD which is the sensor that captures the image. I can't tell you how much the repair might be as you don't list your camera model.

Hope this helps!

After pressing shutter button, the saved image that appears looks like it is made of hot wax and melting

It sounds like an internal error. If you have a warranty, use it. If not, a new camera may be worth buying.
