does this sound like a "scraping" or "marbles"? if so you could have the bearing in the pump failing. If it is more of a sound like a jet plane on take off, it could be the main bearing unit. Either one will require you to have a service company.

If your unit sounds like a jet plane, your tub seal and bearing must be changed. You would need tohave a service company do it. There are special tools rewuired that cost upwards of 125.00( just for the spanner wrench) the labor ranges from 110-145.00

Might be the tub bearing going out. Is she leaking any?
Here is a visual inspect and repair of the tub seal:themobilian_1841.jpgthemobilian_1842.jpgthemobilian_1843.jpgthemobilian_1844.jpg
I used a pipe wrench to unscrew this top portion of the seal (lefty loosey)themobilian_1845.jpgthemobilian_1846.jpgthemobilian_1847.jpgthemobilian_1848.jpgthemobilian_1849.jpgthemobilian_1850.jpgthemobilian_1851.jpgthemobilian_1852.jpg

Those 6 springs are pretty tough to get back on there without the special tool
other than that it all goes back pretty easy.

Making loud noise in the spin cycle and now does not spin at all

Sounds like the tub bearing is gone. Get it checked out though. It could be the pump bearing, a cheaper fix. Or as bad as the tub bearing, a motor bearing.

Making an awful ratcheting noise during aggitation and spin cycles

Under the agitator there is a rachet mechanism that works the agitator. If it is stripped, it will skip until the next good tooth.. when it fails entirely the agitater will stop going back and forth. Its nylon and age along with overloading hastens its dearg.. If you can get the parts you can replace it yourself without difficulty. There is a single bolt in the center of the agitator top . Remove and loft agiyator straight up.

Washing machine won't agitate

it sounds like the transmission is shot. Not knowing the cost of parts if you can replace the transmission yourself then yes it could be worth fixing however if you can't do the job yourself adding cost of parts and labor it may not be worth it

Agitation issues. Everything else appears/works normally.

I just encountered the same problem. I think the operation of the machine is such that the motor turns one direction for the spin cycle, and the other direction for the agitate cycle. I am replacing my motor, as I think i have a bad winding on the reverse. I will let you know.

Im tryin to fix my washermachine

To check the agitator, grab hold of is and see if there is any movement, to remove , first remove the softener cap (14) by pulling, look inside, secure or remove the securing bolt (4) using a long socket extension, once undone remove the top agitator (1) then the bottom agitator (15), check the condition of the splines, refit in reverse order.
