Question about Amana Kitchen Ranges
SOURCE: How do I tighten the
Remove the door from the oven, most doors you just open to the first stop point and lift up on the door, if yours doesn't let me know. Then, most doors have screws on the top and bottom, some also have them on the side, remove those screws and the front and back of the door will separate, the screws that hold the handle are in there. Remember to use caution with the glass when separating the door panels.

My son came and pulled the door straight out not up and we were able to take it off and take it apart and tighten the handle and clean the inner glass. It now looks and works like new.

can the inside skin of the door be removed by unscrewing screws? If so, this should access the screws for the handle...be sure to replace any insulation properly.

This is absurd! I have the same problem with a Kenmore that I bought less than 5 years ago. I rarely use the oven, but the handle has fallen off twice in the past 8 months. The solution seems to be to BUY new parts--and of course they will be costly. Is this planned so the company and the service department can make money??
