If you are going to place the speackers into the rear shelf than you can run your wires along the underside of the shelf, then towards the back of the rear seat, then run it down the length of the seat, when you reach the bottom you will need to try to pry the backrest portion seat foward just enought to get the wire thru to the front, then you will need to get either a phillip or slotted screwdriver, open the back door and at the bottom unscrew the trim from the bottom of the door way,run wire thru do the same with the front door, then run wire behind the trim around or near where the emergency release handle is at, run wire behind instrument panel towared your deck. when you go to wiring up the deck and speakers check on the deck to see if it has a wiring diagram on it if not: most decks come as follows ( white wires front right ,blue or purple rearl left, brown front left, grey rear right red is + black is - yellow is constant +( always on so your deck is able to stay programedwith your presets and audio settings and clock)one single blue or purple wire is the remote for your ampif the colors dont match the ones on your deck then hook up your deck to the power only when the deck comes on go ahead and set your speackers to only the rear right speacker and take your wires from your speacker and touch them to the wires on the back of the deck, once you hear the audio coming thru go ahead and mark this as right rear or rr then using the same speaker change the settings to rear left speacker and do the same as with the other one mark it rl and do same for front speackers

How do i install 6x9 speakers in a 1995 oldsmobile cutlass ciera?

No brackets are necessary...I believe you are talking about replacing the rear speakers located in the rear wondow shelf...Of course the speakers mount underneath the window inside the trunk...You can remove the rear seat and pull the interior trim back to view the top side of the speaker mounting...The opening is already cut for the 6X9 speaker...You can mount the top underneath the window cloth material like the factory did, or no need to remove the interior cloth if you use new top speaker covers, usually come with the speakers. Hope this helps.

VT Commodore 6x9 Speaker install

Hello taz_is_1,

Sure, it's OK as long as the new 6X9's are the same impedance as the door speakers.

Unless there are already wires and cutouts for rear shelf speakers, the installation will be pretty involved. And while I'm not sure of the Holden product, it's sister versions, Chevy Lumina and Omega, does not have such cutouts or wiring.

Wires going into the door interior for window controls, locks, and speakers will all be in a bundle and go from the vehicle frame into the door through a flexible rubber connector with grommets on both sides. You'll need to run your wires from the disconnected door speakers back through the same grommets to avoid pinching and damaging them. After you get them back into the vehicle interior, you can run them under the trim or carpet to the trunk area under the rear shelf. If you have never done such work before, I recommend you get someone who has to help you. You'll need to make an appropriately sized cutout to mount the 6X9's. And depending on the material, you may need some kind of reinforcement and/or spacers. Also, look out for anything underneath the trunk lid that may come into contact with the speakers. There's usually 2 metal rods than span the width of the trunk and run almost directly under the shelf. They will have to clear the speakers in order for the trunk to open and close properly.

It's more work than a simple speaker exchange with a good pair of aftermarket speakers. And the benefit is minimal. A really good set of 5 1/4, 6 1/2, or 6 3/4 Alpines, Bostons, or Infinitys will sound better than a mediocre set of 6X9's any day and you don't have to cut everything up to install them in most door openings.

Hope this helps.

1999 Audi A4 Rear Speakers

The large block is a factory amplifier - in your car (as was in mine) you had a partially-amplified system. The front speakers were driven at speaker level from the head unit, but the rears were fed a line-level signal from the head unit to the amp, which then boosted to speaker level. The harness then sent the speaker level signal to each rear speaker.

What you can do is fit your new head unit. The fronts will interface perfectly with no issues. For the rear, run new wires from the adapter harness at the back of your head unit, back to the new rear speakers, and connect them directly. Then everything will work as it should.

Rear speakers in audi 1999 audi a4

You don't want to fit that - it's the factory amplifier for the rear speakers (the rears are amped, the fronts are not). You need to run new wires from the head unit back to the new rear speakers so that the speaker-level outputs from the new head unit are used to drive the new speakers.

Stero works with engine off

Some wiring may be crossed between the Ignition wire and the 12V battery wire. Check the wires behind the head unit. The head unit could also be going. Hope this helps!
