Question about Sony PlayStation 2 Slimline Console
Like I said, it(ps2) doesnt see I have a memorycard inserted in slot 1, However the memorycard is inserted and is working as it should on my other ps2.
So what can be the problem, and how can I fix this myself??
Every thoughts and input most welcome and appreciated!
There could be a problem with the actual memory card slot itself.
First try using another memory card just to be 100% sure, and if it still doesnt pick it up i would think (however i am no expert) that there is a problem with the slot.
If this is the case im not sure you can fix it yourself but it may be worth lifting up the slot cover and seeing if one of the contacts is bent -this may be straightenable with a small set of electrical pliers.
If all else fails its best to take it to someone who knows that they're looking at, although sometimes it probably costs less to just buy a new playstation.
Sorry i cant help more.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Tips for a great answer:

If this problem happens with the memory card when its in either slot 1 or slot 2
I suggest you clean the contacts of the memory card.
If it just happens when you have in Slot 1 or Slot 2 only,
Go to Radio Shack and get a Can of contact cleaner that has a Brush built into the Spray nozzle.
if you do not have success with that, you must open the PS2 case, and Remove the Controler ports and clean up the whole controller port assembly.
If that doesn't work, and your frustrated and not Electronically skilled enough to do this. I can get the PS2 in tip top shape, for $32 and that includes return shipping. I run the website www.playstationclinic.com
This should put you in business.
