to cure fault on r300 press and hold 3 buttons stop, power & Maintenance (the one with red light over) for 10 seconds a message will come on screen counter is reset and turn off turn back on
if this dose not help your problem try to download the latest firmware and drivers from below link.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.
Press and hold “Stop”, “Maintenance”, and
“Power” buttons for about 10 seconds. A message will come on the screen
saying counter is reset and to turn the printer off. The R200 and
others don’t have a screen so just wait until the 10 seconds is up.
Turn the printer off, unplug the power
cord. Wait about 1 minute and power the printer back up. The counter
will be reset. That’s all there is to the reset procedure.
I have had that same problem multiple times. I even tried to call & email Epson technical support...that did not help! Try turning off computer, unplug the USB cord from the back of the printer, uplug the power cord from your wall or power strip. Next, try plugging them all back in....in the same order (power cord, USB cord, printer on).
I am running Vista Ultimate SP1 x64 all updates and have been trying to
sort out the fake paper jam on my Epson R300. I tried compressed air
from my workshop compressor; believe me if anything was blocking the
feed it wouldn't after I blasted it lol! anyway I also tried running
some thick card through and still nothing, did some button pressing to
get out of maintenance errors and all sorts of other things. I was
about 5 mins away from reluctantly scrapping the printer when I
happened across SSC Utility.
I downloaded SSC Utility, but there didn't seem to be much that would
sort out the paper jam so out of curiosity I decided to click a few
things and then test the printer.
The only thing I ended up Clicking was 'Reset Protection Counter' and that worked, it printed out fine.
so that was my solution, we'll see how long it lasts.
Turn Off the printer and Hold Down The stop, Maintenance (Ink/Jam) and the Power Buttons For 10 Seconds and the printer will come on and say " Finished Turn printer power off " press power button and then press it a gain it should fix it
Thjis is indication the Waste in collector pades need changing eventually.- but no now. you have plenty of warning Reset Epson R300/200 press three buttons to reset the counters The buttons are "STOP" "Maintenance" and "POWER" or down load the epson utility www.ssclg.com and use the reset counter feature
The printer will sound like its going to blow up, but thats normal.
You can do this about 5 times before your printer starts to piss out ink over the table because the Waste Ink Ink Pad is full
To avoid eventual flooding go to rear of the machine- remove the little door and rake around for a small plastic pipe buried under some padding under the left side. Fix to this a thin piece of ploythene tube[Fish tank air supply], extend it to our side the machine and place in a suitable container to collect the waste ink..
I had the very same problem unitl a moment ago!!
I found some A4 card and forced it through the printer. I tried to print a document as usual, as the rollers (inside the printer) lifted, i pushed the card through in an attempt to clear any blockage which wasn't visible to me.
It cleared the block and is now working perfectly again !! give it a go.
