Hp 6600 all in one has printer failure message

Second time I have had this problem in less than a year. Last time it was defective ink cartridges, which after exhaustive calls to tech support in Mumbai, er, Atlanta, HP replaced. Would rather skip that frustration and fix it myself if possible. Thanks for your help.

SOURCE: HP Photosmart D7360 - Oxc18a0001 Ink System Failure

I had the same problem and this is how I fixed it... It is hard to get the cover off (and it's not the top cover, but the one on the right side as facing), but once you do follow the directions below.

- Turn off power and unplug from power source.
- Open right side of printer (looking at the front).
- Disconnect by pulling gently, both white flat ribbon cables off the main circuit board.
- Plug in power source and turn printer on. Wait till you get a error message and push "Ok".
- Unplug power source.
- Reconnect the flat ribbon cables by aligning and carefully pushing into the conectors on the main circuit board.
- Plug in power source and turn printer on (Printer preparing occurred).

Trying to replace ink cartridges on my HP Officejet 6600 with replacement cartridges from LD Products. The printer keeps telling me it is defective. I've tried 3 different ones and none of them will

The printer is checking for a valid printer cartridge and apparently can't communicate with the LD products cartridges. I wouldn't recommend buying 3rd party ink at all actually, most just shortens the life of your printer and clogs things up. You should try eBay and find some HP cartridges for less in my opinion.

Print cartridge(s) missing or not detected

Hi,

If you are getting Incompatible ink cartridge error and These cartridges were replaced a year ago, I think its time you call them once again. ( 1-800-474-6836 ) and report the issue. They will ask you for the Cartridge details like part # and expiry date on the cartridge.

My HP Photosmart C6190 keeps telling me to replace two ink cartridges when I have just replaced all the cartridges.

Several hp printer models produced in recent years have had some capacitors on the logic board fail. One of the early symptoms is ink system related failures and eventually it will constantly power on and off. Apparently some defective components were used in the construction of the logic board. On my C6180 there were 3 failed capacitors (the green cylinders - the puffed top indicates failure) and a 4th from the same manufacturer (TEAPO - many unfavorable web references to this manufacturer). If you have the failed capacitors, I would recommend replacing them, however I you do not do it yourself, the price to have an electronics repair may be more then the price of a new printer. I hope this helps.

Im getting an error message that reads "the following ink cartridge(s) appear to be missing or damaged". I dont know how to check for this. Its showing me a pic of a little square with the letter...

Have you tried swapping out the Cyan cartridge with a new one? If not, try that. Sometimes manufacturing defects in cartridges, especially defective microchips in the cartridges themselves, cause that type of failure.

In any case, if your all-in-one printer is over 3 years old, it's statistically likely to encounter some kind of catastrophic failure. My L7680 just bit the dust on Sunday when a paper jam destroyed the print carriage. Sadly, they just don't last. I was thrilled with the quality of it and it made me angry to junk it after just shy of four years!

Try swapping out the cartridge with a new one and, if that's unsuccessful, consider replacing the entire printer. Sorry to sound disparaging but they're just not built to last! :(

My hp officejet j4580 says incompatible black ink cartridge

I've been in print cartridge hell since I bought a J4580.

I spent an hour on chat with HP customer service and was able to resolve the problem by partially resetting the printer. Here's how:
  • Make sure your print cartridges are installed.
  • Unplug the machine, wait 20 seconds
  • Press and hold the # and 3 keys
  • Plug the machine back in
  • You'll see a reset message on the machine, release the # and 3 keys
  • Follow the prompts to set the language and location
Cross your fingers, hopefully your printer will print now!

Not sure how to help you. Ink failure I would think is cartridge failure. Are you original virgin cartridges or refills? I need the actual error message that the printer is giving.

My Hp PSC 1350v

Hi, I really appericate all your efforts to fix the issue the issue usually occures if any one of the cartridge is defective or low in ink or both the cartridge are defective. We can isolate the issue only by removing the both the cartridges out of the printer and check for the expiry dates printed on the cartridges as if the cartridges are expired also leads to this message. If the cartridge are not expired and have minumial ink in it you can try the below procedure to isolate the defective cartridge Once the both the cartridges are out of the printer insert only the black cartridge in the printer and check for the message if the message is install color cartridge the black cartridge and printer is detecting fine. If the message is check right cartridge this shows that the black cartridge is defective. If the message is insert left cartridge or color cartridge remove the black cartridge out and insert only the color cartridge and check with the message if the message is insert the black cartridge the color cartridge is working fine. And when the color cartridge is in the printer and if the message prompts to check left or color cartridge the color cartridge seems to be defective so replace the defective one will fix the issue So in isolation we can find the defective cartridge and fix the issue by replacing the defective one.. Hope this will help you to fix the issue.. Wish you success. Regards, Barret.
