First restart your Toshiba laptop. Press either "F1," "0," or "F8" to be taken to your computer's hard drive utility screen. The key command differs depending on the model Toshiba computer that you own.

Select "Restore Original Factory Image" from the list of options in System Recovery. Verify that you want to continue the process by clicking "Yes," then click "Next".

Restart the Toshiba laptop once the factory restore process has been completed. You will be prompted to enter information such as the date, time and language preferences.

Feel free get the reliable technical help at http://www.vtechsquad.com/toshiba-support/ for troubleshoot all kind of Toshiba PC(laptop and desktop).

Just press f10 after you restart and it will recover the factory settings from drive d, you should then have your factory settings in place and just follow any instructions on the screen everything should be fine then

I dont know how to restore my acer with linux back to factory settings

The Acer Aspire One is a netbook, not a laptop. A netbook is a smaller, scaled-down version of a laptop. It does not have the memory capacity or graphics of a regular laptop. It also lacks a CD drive, which means you cannot restore the Acer Aspire One with restore discs. Instead, the netbook has a built-in factory restore feature. You can reset the Acer Aspire One to factory settings just using your keyboard. Only restore your netbook to factory settings if you cannot fix the problem any other way.

Save any files or folders on your Acer Aspire One with flash drives. Drag and drop files onto the icon of your flash drive. Go to "Start" > "Restart" to reboot your netbook. Hold down "Alt" and "F10" when you see the Acer logo on the screen. The recovery menu will load. Hit "Enter" and then "Next" to see your recovery options. Choose "Factory Restore" to set your netbook back to factory settings. Follow the instructions on the screen. Choose your time zone and language when the customization menu appears. Reboot the netbook when you are prompted. Restore your saved files from the flash drive.

I am trying to restore my laptop to factory settings after some serious problems. essentially what iv tried to do is; started it in safe mode, started up the hp management centre thing, and i selected the...

Your laptop is waiting for the restore disk. Some PCs keep the restore data on a separate partition of your hard-disk, but it seems yours doesn't, therefore it's waiting for a disk version. As you don't have this on disk, you have a problem, but people are often too hasty to restore to factory settings.

Turn the laptop off by holding the power button down for about 5 seconds. You should still be able to power back on and start in Safe Mode as you haven't actually started the factory restore. Once booted, select system restore again and this time choose a restore point/date rather than the factory settings option. If you've been having problems for a while, try choosing the earliest restore point available and see if this solves the problem. You will need to update some of your software again after doing this - in particular, make sure you update your Anti-Virus software as recent update patches will have been lost.

Other than this you have little option than to re-install Windows and everything else from scratch, unless you can obtain the factory settings on disk from somewhere.

Hope this helps.

What do you mean went back to factory settings? Are you referring to the bios settings? Or other else? If you are referring to the bios settings, and everytime you change the bios and rebooted, then back to factory settings then your problem maybe the cmos battery. You can change it and try if everything works fine. And maybe you can't connect using wifi because it is disabled in the bios settings or if not you got a defective wireless module. Hope this will help pal. Maybe you should elaborate your situation more detailed as what is really happening to your laptop,

Setting laptop back to factory settings

please be more specific in your needs, what exactly you want to restore...if you are talking about the bios settings you need to press del on boot to enter settings ...choose optimal defaults...and than press F10 to save changes....but if ya are talking about the windows settings those are too many to restore by a click...all you can do ..is go to control pannel ...look for maintainance ..or something like that ...and then you have to find sistem restore...and choose a restore point if there is one made automaticly ....I mean a previous date ....and procede to that point ....you will not loose any data or programs...the settings are the only things changed...ya might find though some empty old named folders with something you used to have in pc ...but delete meanwhile...good luck!

not too sure what you mean here.you can reset bios to default or can set bios to factory reset.to set default ...when you turn on pc ,message at bottom left hand screen indicates which key to press to enter setup(bios setup) note...its very brief;mines f 10 for instance.at startup press this key and select load default then select save settings and exit;then ur pc restarts with default settings.
To reset bios to factory requires disassembly.
you locate rtc and remove battery(looks like large watch battery)for 5 minutes then replace, reassemble and restart pc.you dont need to know what rtc means(real time clock)or what it looks like cos the battery is right next to it.
