My Epson DX4200 all-in-one will not print at all. It says I am out of cyan, but I'm not! A brand new cartridge has been loaded, yet the red ink light remains permanently & stubbornly on! Please help.
if the printer doesn't recognize the replacement cartridges, the
printer contacts could be dirty. You can clean them with a cotton swab
dipped in distilled water and then squeezed very dry. If the printer
still won't recognize a replacement cartridge, it most likely has a bad
logic board and you should replace the unit.
But also make sure your using a genuine new Epson cartridge and not a refilled one or off-brand one.

Compatible cartridges still have lots of ink in them (I can hear it swooshing about) but printer says there is no ink in the three colour cartridges and the black cartridge (which is a different brand) is half full. Won't let me print. Any ideas?

I have an Epson dx4400 and some time ago the heads went out of alignment. I have spent at least three hours using the nozzle clean and head alignment functions but it's still no better, is there a factory reset I can try? It's the h alignment that's the problem, there's always a white gap on black and overlap on the other colours. All that trying to re-align does is to swap the position of the gaps/overlaps in the 7 test strips that print. I've done a google seach but all that does is bring up a load of red-flagged sites that want my credit card details. Thanks for any advice. nb, I've had to put this as a 4200 all in one as fixya refuses to believe that there's such a thing as a 4400....
