Question about Swann Communications Swann S243 16u 11111 16 Channel Digital Video Recorder

I have only started using the disks on this system. I put some letters on a new disc and it went fine. Now I can't record anymore as it says "read only" although I did not set it like that. I only have a handful of letters on it so there should be plenty of room. How do I control the disc? I know you can set the files themselves to read only, but not the disc. thanks anyone

As its the problem of the software through which the disc is made.and also the lens in the unit is creating the problem.check out the same in any other unit.this will not happen.

you probably have regular cd-r disks that cannot be recorded on in this unit. You can only use disks marked "DIGITAL AUDIO" for recording

Disc load problem

DVD players need a finilized disk. When the program finilizes the disk, it's writing the TOC which is where the players go to find the files.

RDR-VX560 have recorded about 250 programs, on DVD-R and DVD+RW discs. Recently I went back and made sure that all had been finalized. I then checked out their operation on both the recorder and my new...

I'm sorry that the discs are not being able to read using either Computer nor with the Recorder itself. Based on the information you have provided, it appears that the discs are corrupted. Please check whether other discs are playing fine with the Recorder and computer to make sure that the drives are fine. If Recorder and Computer playing fine other discs, we can confirm that the issue is with the discs itself.
Clean the discs using a soft cloth starting from center to straight toward edge.
Use any software recovery software to recover the data. I have provided a link where you can download one for free. Click here to download the data recovery software.
Clean the discs by following the below step.

Thus cleaning the disk should always be your first move. Run warm water over the damaged disk to remove dust. If there is stubborn dirt or grease on the disk, gently rub it with your finger while you are washing it, and use a gentle detergent or liquid soap (with the water) or rubbing alcohol (in place of water). Anytime you rub or wipe a CD or DVD, you should do so by starting at or near the center of the disk and rubbing straight outward toward the edge to prevent further scratching. Shake the water off and let the disk air-dry (do not dry it with a towel or cloth, and don't sun-dry it either).

Now play the discs directly on the computer and recorder. If the issue persists, try again using the recovery software.
I hope the information helpful, please let me know if you require any clarifications.

Thanks for understanding.

My lap top doesn't display my external disc anymore. How can I manage?

hello sir,
Go to start->settings->control panel->administrative tools->computer management->disk management and assign a letter if it is missing.

Some times the "enclosure" goes bad and the hard disk is fine. You could take the hard disk out of the enclosure and try it in another computer.

Won't read disc anymore and have cleaned it as instructed...the console reads other discs.

If your Wii is reading other discs fine but not the mario kart disc, then the disc has to be the problem. Look at it in a light and you might see some deep scratches or parts of the disc that have peeled off which is why the system isn't reading the disc.

Regardless, this time buy a new Mario Kart disc that way you know the disc won't be defective and won't be used by anybody else.

Recording Error "Can not record on this disk/E4 54037380

I had that exact same problem. I would record a bunch of dvds with no problems for months and then some and one day it doesn't work. Only this showed up E4 EA03738B. However I've found the solution. Instead of going out and returning the recorder or buying new dvds just purchase a Laser Lense Cleaner. It's a dvd cleaner. Works like a charm.

DCR-DVD108 Problem

It's the disc not the camera......I purchased a 3 pack of Sony DVD-R discs. I put the first disc in and it recorded once. The next time I tried to record I got the message "movie recording disabled". After calling Sony, searching online, resetting the camera and reading through the manual I replaced the disc with another from the 3 pack and it is recording just fine. I read that recording straight to DVD has many problems, and I believe this is one of them. SONY SUCKS!!!!!

Sony camcorder 'Movie recording disabled'

You need to finalize it in the camera, the one you used.

Then you should be able to access what little data if any on it.

If you can not get it to finalize then take both the camera and disk to a photo shop. They may be able to recover it for you.

Let us know the results. Good luck
