I have 2 L5 solobaric 12's in the kicker ported box,wired at 4ohm. I have a 5+ga power wire goin from battery to a Stinger 1.0, 24 VDC, 95 degree c, SCH241MC Cannister. then from canister i go strait to a...

Move all the grounds to chassis grounds of the van. There's more metal there to make a clean connection than to the wire you're using. If it sounds good now, enjoy it. Likely will be a very small change in performance unless your're running out of current on the big, sustained bass sections. If so, add a second capacitor ran in series and possibly a second deep cycle battery. There will be a point that your alternator can't keep up with the draw. Then you're gonna spend some money!

I bought a ford radio cd 6000 rds eon an actually payed for a code in a ford dealer.I was given the code however since i moving houses, the paper they wrote the code got lost.I later had to change cars and...

Welcome to FixYa.

The problem with these security codes is that each radio carries a code that is unique and individual to the serial of radio itself. There is no master code for these radios. The good news is they can be decoded online without sending them to a shop.

Ford will charge £25 for supplying you with this code and this is why I always recommend this site which does them for only £5.99.

This is the simplest way to resolve your problem and save some money.

Just enter the serial details on site and you will have your code sent right back to your email or mobile phone. I use them regularly for radios that I repair and can confidently recommend them.

Hope it helps. Many thanks for using FixYa

I have 1991 nissan sentra and the speed up to25 and putts

This is now my specialty but I have a few ideas for you before you go spending BIG money. First, go to a shop and have your throttle body cleaned, then have them clean the mass air flow sensor or air flow meter. From your description it sounds like your engine is choking out. Good luck.

I have a 2006 Mazda 3 and the cd keeps skipping to the point that Im not able to listen to my cds

Sounds like your cd player is dirty or the disk you are trying to play is scratched and not useable?

You can purchase a cd disk cleaner at any department store or office supply. All you do is play the disk and follow the instructions. Some come with a mix of alcohol & water and have small brushed on the disk itself to place the liquid and this helps clean out your equipment. Others clean without liquid.

Check the disk itself for scratches and try wiping it off with a lint free towel. After cleaning your cd player, try playing it again and if it still skips - replace the cd. If a brand new disck skips in your disk player after cleaning it then your lazer might need repair and I would recommend taking it in to a local stereo installation and/or repair shop.

Good luck!

My sub keeps popping when working?

Hi there
If this happens on high levels, popping from your subs generally relates to the cone being over exerted and reaching the physical limits of the cone travel, or the amp is approaching its limits resulting in clipping and producing square wave peaks on transients This sort of problem can generally be tuned out of a system by careful adjustment of EQ and drive levels. If the system has been working fine to date, and this is a new problem that has just started, then you may have a failing sub.

It comes down to Amperage and RMS, your best bet is to go in and talk to a salesman at a stereo shop. That way he can decide on what sort of power you want and how you wanna use the subs. But 1000amp AMP is probably a good start 4 channel of course. Alpine or SOny make some kick a$$ AMPS

Car stereo im trying to build

I guess the question you need to ask yourself then is how much money are you willing to spend? If you are looking for a sound quality system then it WILL cost a lot more than a DB all out BASS system. The system that you have picked out isn't a bad one but as with all systems this in only half the story. You will need to have it installed well to get the best from the speakers that you have chosen too. If you want to have the stealth look in the cabin then it's pretty simple, but you will not get the best sound quality or should I say imaging as the OEM locations usually are no good for this.

I would suggest that even though you keep things looking stealthy in the cabin apply sound deadening to the doors as Asian cars are generally quite tinny unlike German cars. This will make a big difference in terms of overall sound quality & help keep out the road noise so you can hear every little detail of your personalised system.

Cb feedback though external am/fm speakers

Hi Big OX,

Terrible problem.  I know what your going though.  Route your AM/FM Antenna wire, and Speaker wires separate from the  CD Antenna cable and power supply wires. If you can,  twist the speaker wires.  If the Speaker wires are run along side the CB Antenna wire for a short distance, you will pickup feedback. If you much have the Antenna wire get near the speaker wires, have the antenna wire cross the speaker wire at a 90 degree angle. Try not to run the antenna wire in paralell with the speaker wires.   Good luck
