Question about Video Cameras

1 Answer

No playback i recently got a jvc df460ek. I can record as normal but i cannot playback. When i reverse and playback nothing but a blue screen is displayed. On top of the lcd when i am recording is a camera icon with a flasing M beneath it. I reset the camera but that did not make a difference. It also seems to be in dsc mode whatever that is. Can someone please tell me what dsc means and please help me with this thanks!!!

Hi, thanks for your quick response.

unfortunately this hasnt worked. I have tried what you asked me to do but now there is a an "A" but there is also a "m" still flashing beneath a camera and not camcorder icon.

the camcorder records or it says it does but once the tape is rewound and played back there is a black screen and then it returns to the normal mode again.

the select button is also a memory card transfer button and when pressed all it says is 'memory card!'.

thank you again for your help

Hi there and thanks for coming to FixYa.

The M means that your camcorder is in manual mode. To put the camcorder in A or Automatic mode, hold the lock button down on the power switch and turn the switch to A.

DSC means Digital Still Camera - It's a mode of the camcorder.

Hit the SEL button to move through the DSC playback items.

Hope that helps you. If you have more questions, leave me a comment, and feel free to rate my solution.

Did you make sure you have changed the switch from memory to video?

Change CCD. If you are technically inclined you can do it, but take a lot of care not to damage flexible wires. Otherwise have it service by the company. Good luck

Cannot record due to a black screen

OK, that means you can see clear picture in playback of old recorded tapes and camcorder just wont give you live view to record any more.
If its true then it is known problem/ failure of ccd imager in your JVC GR-D33 camcorder.
JVC will repair it free of cost, click JVC CCD Imager Advisory for details.
Thanks.

JVC HDD Camcorder won't record or playback

Depending on what model number it is? My JVC had a snap shot feature to it as well as video. Make sure that this is not an option for your camera. There could be a possibility that you did record but you have it in this camera setting, it could be taking snapshots of what you recorded.

I have recently bought a JVC GZ-MG142EK camcorder and I have a problem with a blue dot, which also shows up during playback on a PC or TV screen. Please can you advise how to remove this dot.

You cant in a word
This seems to me to be a CCD fault.
Unless I misunderstand you and the blue dot signifies an action you should take- or is a 'Recording' signal although these are usually red.=Check the manual re this
I suggest you contact the makers support website prior to returning to vendor.

No playback on JVC GR-D72

It souunds like the problem is in the Vid-PC connection. I suggest you start by downloading the latest version of whatever software you have used to capture and view.

Also - uninstall any hardware in the PC that is used to capture (just remove from system device list) and then restart the PC and let it detect and re-install.

If you don't know how to do these steps, then you'll need geek help.

Jvc gr-dv500u

Dirty video head! Playback newly opened blank tape for five minutes, after that eject, reinsert, playback then eject again five times, these will serve as your video head cleaner, never use "video head cleaning cassette tape" for it will only damage your camera. Most camera has built in video head cleaner installed inside and activates only when you insert, initial play/rec, and ejects a tape. If the problem is still there you need pro fix then.[:0)
