Bosch stand alone freezer Intelligent 32 - how to defrost
Hi there. I bought a Bosch KSR390 (Intelligent 39) stand alone fridge and accompanying freezer (Intelligent 32) just more than 2 yrs ago. The freezer's manual is lost. I haven't had to defrost it once since we bought it, but a couple of power failures caused excessive build up of ice in the freezer and this morning I couldn't close the door, after a piece of ice fell in behind on of the drawers, which I then couldnt get out because of ice build up underneath the upper drawer... it's really irritating. I need to clean it ASAP. Can you please help?

Hi I have the same refrigerator and found the manual; "The refrigerator compartment was programmed to defrost automatically meaning you do not have to constantly clean and dry it. Copy from the manual" Also have a look in the back for the drain outlet - very small. If that is clogged up it also cause water on the inside.

the fridge might have iced up in the coil due to a defrost problem. one way to check it is to leave the fridge off for a few hours and leave the door open. turn the fridge back on after the few hours and see if the performance is any better. Let me know how it goes
We have the same and I think it is because the freezer door bounces open when we shut the fridge door. Then the freezer compartment ices up, the fan clogs up with ice and cannot blow cold air into the fridge, and the fridge gets warm and the milk goes off.
Solution? We have bought one of those child safety clips (search for fridge safety clip or lock) to hold the freezer door closed.
Simple design error. Expected better from Bosch :-(
sounds like the drain hole in the back of the freezer has blocked and when the defrost kicks in the water is not running out of the drain hole but into the bottom of the freezer. best do a full defrost and if it occurs again the drain hole will need to be cleared out.
The small drain pipe on the back of the fridge gets clogged, hence no drainage when defrosting, hence ice blocks the airflow between the freezer compartment and the fridge compartment.
Remove the rubber stop from the drain pipe and clean (can be found above the motor)
Defrost the fridge for a few days (it takes at least 48 hours). During this time, if you are not brave enough to remove the internal panels of the freezer and continually clean the water, check for water coming out and clean.
If during the defrost there is no water coming out the drain pipe, use about 2m of flexible and strong wire to clean the pipe.
The aim is to unblock the pipe once the ice has melted.
