Modded with the DS-X or R-4 i presume?
if so this is your problem.

One thing I have noticed is that the plastic ridges that separate the pins on the DS-X and R-4 are not cleanly cut like they ar on a real NDS cart. I had to pull out a magnifying glass to see this, but they are fairly obvious.

1) Try inserting / removing the card several times, in hope the plastic is worn off.

2) ONLY DO THIIS IF YOU ARE SURE NOT TO CAUSE DAMAGE TO YOUR UNIT!

Try cutting off the plastic that should'nt be there with a sharp knife (this does not require opening the unit!). If the plastic is taking damage from this your unit will still be under warranty. However, if you do damage the contact fingers (golden pins) it will not be under warranty anymore. So if you are too afraid to do this step, move over to solution #3 :)

3) You can send back your unit to your retailer in order to recieve a replacement. However, due to the high demand for units there most likely will take some time for them to send you the replacement.

When games are inserted into console they will not play

If you are inserting a DS card, be sure there are no foreign articles inside the slot. Blow into the DS card slot to clear any debris. Also be sure you are inserting the card all the way in until it clicks. I've also found that if you're powering on a game, and you bump, grasp or touch the ds card as the DS is powering on, that can cause it to not read games.

Check the actual DS card itself and carefully look at the exposed contacts on the circuit board. Be sure none of them are scratched, damaged or otherwise. A scratch can damage a contact, thus preventing proper data read.

If anything was spilled onto the DS card, be sure it is thoroughly cleaned with a damp cloth (no cleeaning chemicals!) If you immerse the DS card, or pour liquids on it, that may damage it as well.

Same points hold true for inserting a Gameboy Advance game (if you have a DS or a DS Lite. The DSi and DSiXL do not have Gameboy Advance slots.

If you turn on the DS and nothing happens, try a different DS Card. If it only happens with that one particular game (or games) your DS cards are damaged or need cleaning. If all your games are not playing, there is a problem with your DS. Try your games in a friend's DS just to make sure. You'll probably have to send the unit to Nintendo for repair, or take it to an authorized repair center.

Saved data could not be read?

This just happened to me. I used a tissue and gently wiped out the slot- then blew out any dust/debris with my breath. Gave a gentle wipe to the pins on the game card as well with a tissue. Restarted a few times and now games are working fine.

Ds wont read card

Sounds like a dirty connection or a bad chip to me.

Try simply blowing into the slot and along the chip's connections before inserting the chip. If that doesn't work, and you are feeling brave, use lint free cloth (available at staples) and some Isopropyl (rubbing) Alcohol/Acetone (nail polish remover) to LIGHTLY swab the connection. Let dry completely, then insert chip.

If that doesn't do the trick, I would declare either the chip or the DS bad. Does the DS work with other chips? If it doesn't, chances are the connections between the game chip and the DS circuit board have been loosened to the point where the DS is nonfunctional.
