Question about Canon PIXMA iP1800 InkJet Photo Printer
I have refilled ink in my iP 1880 Printer, running on Mac OS 10.5. It works fine usually but then suddenly it stopped printing, I mean you can hear the motion of the cartridges but the ink does not come out. The interesting thing is when you print a test page it comes out perfectly!!
Please help me solve the problem if you can.
If when you print a test page it comes out perfectly, that means that the printer works, and the problem is communication between the printer and Mac.
Try the following:
Start testing a different USB cable and a different port.
Unplug Mac, and eventually remove the battery.
Unplug the printer power cable and USB.
Put the mac back toghether and restart it with printer usb not connected.
When mac is on, reinstall printer software driver, with Mac still not connected to printer, using printer disk or download.
Connect printer to Mac when asked by software.
If that still does not work, test the printer on a different computer, even if it is not common, the printer may have a faulty USB port.
