Sir,
1. REMOVAL OF UPPER GLOVEBOX TRIM - remove the two Torx Screws (T25 from what i remember) on the upper part of the upper glovebox trim. With these removed, pull the trim out - it is "locked" in at the bottom, so it might be slighlty hard to remove. Just ease it out from the bottom once the top is loose.

2. INSTALLATION OF CABLE - Remove the radio (2 standard radio keys), and plug in the cable (check your Radio instruction book - it's in there somewhere). Look through the hole in the upper glovebox - you can push it through to that compartment. Once you have, put the radio back in.

3. INSTALLATION OF NEW UPPER GLOVEBOX TRIM - you need a new upper glovebox trim, with a ISO radio hole. Get one from Fiat. When you get the autochanger, take the metal cage out, and place it in the new trim (it clicks into place). Push the new trim back into the glovebox, remembering to pull the cable out. Make sure it sits flush at the bottom before you screw it back, so the glovebox lid will line-up correctly again.

4. INSTALLATION OF CD AUTOCHANGER - plug in the cable, and slot into the socket! I tried putting the fixing pads Blaupunkt suggested, but Fiat told me they are not needed - I agree, as the CD changer wont fit, and it nearly broke the unit!. Push the unit in until it clicks.

5. CODE INSTALLATION - turn the radio on, press "SRC" and the radio will ask for the code. Enter the code using the 1, 2, 3 and 4 buttons - confirm it using the 5 button.

That is probably a dirty lens problem, try first cleaning the lens.

When a CD unit does not read any CD, then the first suspect is always a problem with laser lens.
The unit will try reading CD , but all that you hear is whirring and clicking noise as the lens cannot read CD first track.
Try using a cleaner CD to clean the lens, and if you can reach the CD lens try blowing some canned air on it.

If the problem is not the lens , then it may be a bad data cable or a disturbance on data cable.

The data cable is the cable that connects to CD changer.

    Check the data cable connections.
Test the CD changer with engine off to exclude disturbance.
The data cable may be tested with a special device, but for that you need to go to an authorized repairer.

What you are talking about , when you talk about marriage between unit is the encoding decoding setup.

You find instructions on how to do that here.

Fiat cd changer wont keep its code inthe memory

The radio requires TWO battery feeds.

One is a permanent battery feeding the code and station memory

The other is the main one  via the Ignition Switch

I cant say about the mp3 disk but the aux is auxilary and the leads are located behind the stereo system yellow and red, you can buy the removal pins from most motor factors.

Blaupunkt IDC A09 not recognised

If the unit you replaced it with is exactly the same model as your old one and its the same head unit, then i would check the lead, try wiggling it and seef it recognises it, if not then someones sold you a dodgy cd changer from ebay

IDC A09 installed in Fiat Punto

After incorrectly entering the code 3 times, the unit locks for 60 minutes. To clear it, leave it connected to the head unit and the radio switched on for an hour. After that, switch the radio off, disconnect and reconnect the cd changer, and enter the correct code.

hi the A09 has to be married to the head unit, unless your model is the A09 PSA.
