Question about Dell Precision M60 Notebook

1 Answer

Touchpad no longer working

I have a Dell Precision M60 and the touchpad no longer works. There was no clear antecedent as I haven't downloaded any software recently and not even a system restore brings back functionality. If I plug an external mouse in that works though. Any clues?

I've tried reinstalling the latest Alps touchpad driver from Dell, but still no dice.

Any help would be much appreciated. Many thanks, Lee

Dell inspiron 1525 touchpad not working properly

Hello,

You can try the following steps.

1. Turn laptop off.
2. Remove all external devices and disconnect AC adapter power cable from the system.
3. Remove the battery from the system.
4.Hold down the power button continuously for at least 5 seconds. Do not release the power button during this process.
5.Insert the battery back to the system.
6.Power the laptop back on.
Try using touchpad again.

Dell M60 volume buttons

At the left of your power button, past the word PRECISION, there is a slot for a screwdriver. With the screen fully open, use that slot to remove the power and volume buttons. At the other end of the stip you removed will be the connector that connects the buttons to the motherboard. Reconnect it better. I had this problem too.
