need to recharge battery in my new nikon D300 - there must be a release button or something but can't find instructions in manual - please help! Ta

- Thanks Rob - feel like such a dill! - I knew how to take the battery out etc but it got half way out then stopped - I didn't want to force it thinking I might break something. Came to the conclusion that there must be a release button or something - but NO you just have to pull it out!

Hold the camera like your going to take a picture. Now turn the camera over to look at the bottom. On the right hand side is a small latch. The latch secures the battery hatch door. Pop the latch and the battery door should open.
Turn the camera back over carefully and the batter should slide out.
Then plug the battery into the charger and you can charge it. Have fun with your new camera!

out of warranty Nikon D300 with a continuous blinking "ERR" message. Tried multiple lenses, cleaned the contacts, fully charged the battery, tried several CF cards and problem still persist. Shutter has a weird sound when pressing the shutter button.

d300 does not accept cards, gives CHR message tried several Sandisk & Lexar cards. used it without any problems for at least two years. Any suggestions apart from sending it back to Nikon?
