I have a Acer Aspire M1610 and speakers not working was going to buy a new sound card but not sure which one ? can you help

Hi, you can download a new audio driver here at acer:

http://support.acer.com/us/en/product/default.aspx?tab=1&modelId=342

Please select your operating system 32 or 64 bit.
The driver needs to be unziped before installation.

Make sure the volumen is not set off or turned down low.
And connect the jack stick to the GREEN outlet and make sure
the speakers are on.

The sound card is a PCI card and are available in any
pc and computer store.

If you not do much in installing drivers
visit a computer repair shop.
I am sure they can help you with that.

Hope this will help you.

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers or uninstall
click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers make sure you have selected the
(((appropriate speakers))) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there
also
click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar
if his does not fix the problem

have you tried this control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) also you might check
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer
make sure you have an earth ******** before touching any parts inside your computer
hope this helps

In order to check that you have your Audio Driver installed for either your on board or ext card sound. Go to. Control Panel. Click on the System Icon. Then click on Hardware Tab. Then Device Manager. It'll show a list of you hardware spec. Check for Sound Devices. Then look to see if you've possibly a yellow exclamation mark. If you have when you right click with the option for properties it'll show the device isn't working. What i suggest is to. Right Click. Then Un-install. Then restart your computer. The software drivers should be with your operating system already. ( Though may be not though. Could be downloaded if not there ) When your computer restarts. It should display a bubble message saying that it has has found hardware & is installing driver software. When it has installed it should say. Your sound kit is working properly. If it doesn't do this perhaps the driver software arn't with your operating system. You'll need to find the drivers software from the Internet. You'll need the details. Thats given with device manager for the type of hardware spec your computer has. Then it just a matter of doing an Internet search for your driver software. Download this. Do a restart. Your computer shall detect this. Then it should install. Your Good To Go !

You now should have sound !
