Question about GE GTS18F 18.2 Cu. Ft. Top-Freezer Refrigerator with Clear Vegetable/Fruit Crispers & Gallon Door St...

I can't seem to get my refrigerator door to hang properly -

I can't get my refrigerator door to hang properly - there is about a 1/4 inch gap in the seal on the top right-hand corner. I have tried to adjust the wheels at the bottom to correct the imbalance but nothing seems to work. The refrigerator door closes if left open - so it is at level.
I can only put very light items on the shelves of the refrigerator door otherwise the gap increases. I have to manually lift and readjust the door height to minimize the door gap. Is there a simple way of correcting this problem? What am I missing?

SOURCE: Refrigerator door is not shutting right

You need to replaced the door cam assembly on the bottom of the refrigerator side. It is probably cracked and hanging up.

SOURCE: GE side by side doors are not alligned

here is a diagram of the doors and the hinge area. Without seeing myself I can only gusess.

you box could be twiked or not level. The hinge at the bottom could be bent. There top hinge sometimes can have an ajustment that moves the top of the door left and right wich will raise the door a littel. to see if this has an ajustment you will need to remove the top cover of the top hinge and loosen the bolts a little and move the door left and right, if it does have someone hold the door where you want and tighten.

The refrigerator door on my Sub Zero 695 is sagging. How do I determine if it is a problem with the bottom hinge or the closer cam. My cam looks worn, however the gap at the top pin is almost double t

Hi,

The bottom cam should be in 2 parts, one on door and one one lower hinge. Sounds like your missing one of them. I would replace both of them at the same time to fix the problem. Good Luck

Refrigerator door seal has gap, and the alarm keeps going off

My refrigerator as delivered had noticeable gaps in the sealing gasket. The solution is to adjust the doors to eliminate the gap. The door hinges allow for adjustment by loosening hardware, adjusting, and tightening hardware again.

Hi, the freezer door will not stay closed. need to push the last 1/2 inch, sometimes it pops out again that 1/2 inch. nothing in freezer to stop it closing. Door need adjusting?? Greg

Hi

If the refrigerator is not properly leveled the doors will not close easily, the front side should be a little bit higher than the rear side. If that's how it is, then the issue is with the hinge lever that seems to have gone bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Door needs to be adjusted as it seem to be hanging lower on open

slightly loosen the bolts on the hinges enough to scoot the door into the correct position and it will stay until you tighten the bolts on the hinges. It may take a couple of tries but that is the way to do it until the door seals and closes properly =)

The refrigerator door seems to have dropped about 1/8 inch.

it is possible that the floor under the adjusting bolt has dropped, place a carpet protector cup under all the feet and then, using a level, make sure the unit sits square, the door may need some adjustment after this but you will see, that is a simple task.

Refridgerator door sags

Its a two person job. One person has to looses up the two hidges holding the door just slightly while the other person holds the door in place. Once in place tighten the screw/bolts for the hidges back up and check. If not aligned, redo it again until it is aligned and seals properly..
Good Luck!

Changed freezer seal, bottom half of door won't close tight

tough job there , you must get a hair dryer and carefully heat gasket until it seals properly. some gaskets take hours to get to seal right.

Door not closing properly.

take door off and pack bottom hinge with washers. make sure hingebrackets on cabinet are tight. however, door hanging a bit should not really affect sealing. if seal is gapping, one solution is to warm with a hairdryer and pull outwards gently
