Xerox Phaser 6360 turns off immediately after it is turned on
Printer suddenly stopped working. After working well for 3 months (low usage), all of a sudden when powered up it, the display would come on for a few seconds and then the printer would shut off. After trying it several times over a couple weeks, it shuts down immediately after power up (no display at all, no sound).
Is this a common problem for this printer? Any ideas/suggestions?

Your machine uses solid ink wax blocks. So no calibration is necessary. Does the self test print look good. I suspected not.
Check out the Xerox.com website. It could be a problem as you machine is no longer sold.
The lid lifts a lever on the right side of the printer that moves a set of gears that releases the imaging unit. If the lever is broken or disconnected, it will not release. You may have to remove the right side panel to resolve it. You have to release the top, by removing 4 screws, and then the panel will release.
The most likely cause here is the laser unit, check all connections to the laser unit and cycle the power (turn the machine off and on) if error continues replace the laser unit. You can buy a replacement for $350 new or $225 refurb. Part# 062K17233. Installation isn't very simple, so if you aren't a technician you may want to bring it to one. Good luck
Safe , most likely, recommended? I don't recommend using generic supplies in anything but ink ket printers. By that I mean the liquid inks. The toner is a phaser is pretty unique, and the OEM toner is by far the best way to go.
If your Xerox Phaser 6360 has either garbled
characters, inverted or upside down display, or no display, the control panel is most likely bad and must be replaced. Here's a video on how to do it and where to get it. Hope it helps!
Yeah I had a look at the website there too, try powering down again and plugging it out for a longer period of time. You need to get the whole machine to reset and loose all saved info in the bios. Also cleaning it out of all loose toner on any contacts might help!
