Willing to bet the card youre trying to install is the problem. Either the card is defective, or you have a clone driver problem. A clone driver problem is where two or more devices are so much alike with each other that the incorrect driver for the device installs. (Example: modem model ABC1200 and ABC1300--both modems have their own drivers, but because theyre both similar in design, the driver for ABC1300 will try to install on the ABC1200 and vice versa). Are you installing this under Windows XP? Post back and let us know...

Hi, my laptop tells me that I have a problem in setupdd.sys PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA How can I fix that?? /Jan

Well, you should probably replace the file from a backup or handy good installation; the error itself is explained in the Intel processor manual if you like, but overall it means that some file corruption or another soft error happened where your software was supposed to stay perfect. It is also possible that some memory timing is off, and you just need to dust and reseat your memory and graphics cards, or dial back any custom timing.

When starting the laptop acer 5100 it tyries to start and it shows the following Bus 06, device 02 ,function 00 error resource conflict pci in slot 03 bus 06 device 04 function...

If it just started doing this all of a sudden, then it is a good bet that *********** board is fried. If you just installed some memory or a communications card or new drive, then take it out and see if it still does it. If not, check the installation instructions to make sure it was put in right.

Use different CD installer or burn your present WindowsXP to another disc. Your files might have been corrupted due to poor disk surface of your Windows Installer.

Help with a toshiba TECRA 8100

Yes, it should run WinXP. The minimum system requirements to run both Windows XP Home and Professional are 233Mhz, 64Mb RAM and 1.5GB hard drive space. I have a Toshiba Tecra 8000 that still runs XP, a little slow, but has run smoothly for 5 years.

The setupdd.sys error is most likely a due to a defective hardware like RAM. Try installing only one ram if you have two to see if either one is defective; it should work for most users.
