Question about Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-32FS100 32" TV
Sony Trinitron model number KV-32FS10.
Recently our television has not been responding well to remotes. Rather, it has not been responding to remotes, period. I initially thought it was the batteries in one of the remotes and proceeded to change them, and when this did nothing to fix the problem I decided to try reprogramming our Comcast universal remote in an attempt to fix the problem.
However, all attempts have fixed nothing. I looked up numerous Sony codes, and went so far as to do the ''search yourself'' method, all to no avail. Something that I've noticed has caused similar issues in the past was if something was on top of the television (anything electronic) messing with the receiver device that responds to remotes. I'm not sure what to call it as I don't know televisions well. Usually moving whatever was blocking the signal was the solution.
This time there is nothing blocking it! As far as I can tell, the remotes were all working a week ago, so I'm at a loss as to what changed between that time and now to cause this.
So please, if anyone has experienced this personally or understands what is causing it, I'd very much appreciate your wisdom.

IF THE REMOTE HAS BEEN DROPPED, THERE IS A CCHANCE THE CRYSTAL CONTROLLING THE FREQUENCY HAS BEEN DAMAGED. TRY A UNIVERSAL REMOTE, ALTHOUGH OFTEN YOU MAY LOOSE SOME FUNCTIONS, OR THE BUTTONS REACT DIFFERENTLY THAN LABELED. SELDOMLY, BUT IT DOES HAPPEN, THE IR RECEIVER SECTION OF THE SET ITSELF CAN FAIL. THE IR RECEIVER [LOOKS LIKE A DARK LED] CAN FAIL, AND THEY'RE COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE AT RADIO SHACK
