Picture not fitting on screen How do I fix it!!!

I have a 53SBX01B Hitachi tv and I cannot find a way to make the picture fit onto the screen. Thought it would be easy as I have other tv's that have this feature on the remote, i.e. stretch screen, wide screen, full screen, etc.

Anyone got any ideas?? It is a projection tv~ is that common with projection tv's?

Is this an older TV? There is probably a potentiometer somewhere INSIDE the television marked "size". Careful with that!

More commentary: There are probably TWO (2) potentiometers... One marked H.SIZE (for Horizontal Size) and one marked V.SIZE (for vertical size). Again, be careful in there. a TV can shock the shazbot out of you. You can purchase some plastic TV adjustment tools (sort of like plastic screwdrivers) at your local electronics store.

Fault with the main power supply regulator board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

Full picture not in screen

Sounds as though you have a leaking Capacitor in the horizontal section. The problem capacitor is likey to be orage in color and rated at 2kv or higher. Located next to the High Voltage transformer ( Flyback transformer ). Be very cautious if you are changing this, or any part yourself as the picture tube can charge high voltage ( up to 35,000 volts ) for a long period of time. Always discharge the picture tube first before servicing a set.
Replace the capacitor with a like part with the same or higher voltage rating and the same capacitance number ( mfd, pfc,or such ) as listed on the side of the part.
Good Luck

It is not clear what you mean by "the picture does not fit the screen". Usually the picture size is determined by the TV microprocessor based on information which it receives. If it is not displaying the picture properly this circuit is probably bad. The bad news is Apex does not support their products and it will probably be tough or impossible to fix this.
