Is the drive for the speakers installed?

Check device manager. This can be done in Win XP by right clicking my computer, properties, hardware, then click device manager. Alternative way to enter device manager is by clicking start menu, control panel, system (performance and maintenance), hardware then device manager.

In the deice manager window see if any question marks or exclamation points are visible.

If so, see if it the mark is for an audio device.

If it is an audio device, uninstall the device.

Have the driver ready for the sound card by either a driver disk or by downloading the driver from the manufacturer website. This would be Dell, gateway, HP if you bought a name brand PC.

If this does not help, I need more details about your computer such as Vender, motherboard, and dedicated sound card if applicable.

I have no sound when play any thing on my computer

Sounds like driver issues, go to your device manager and check if your drivers are loaded correctly you can usually tell if there are expl points next to the driver, if drivers are fine then its hardware, the sound card may be down....... Most PCs have 2 sound cards also try to plug in your speakers to the front or rear sound card witch every you haven't tired yet.

Hello.

You can go to the control panel and then double click the sounds and audio device. On the audio, under default device select the newly installed device audio or what ever indicated in the selection.
like this picture below

The optiplex 360 does come with internal speakers(it's in the spec sheet as optional), we bought them for our entire IT department and they worked fine on XP and vista, but when we put 7 on them, we can't get the internal speaker to work.

I am using vista business edition.if i connect the pc to an external stereo speaker i am getting only one channel sound out put.i changed the speaker and checked.for other speaker also same problem i

Sometime on your right speaker there is left/right control, check that, double click on the speaker (bottom right) and see if the slide balance selector above the volume level is one way or the other. then go to your control panel and click on Sound and Audio Devices click on the speaker volume and if that's ok then check next to that is Advance, click there and in the drop down arrow box make sure Desktop Stereo Speakers is displayed, apply and ok. And finally, uninstall and reinstall the audio drivers (choosing the correct operating system)

Popping sound coming from Acer X1200 desktop speakers

If the popping sound is happening during regular use it's possibly the wires connecting your speakers to the sound card. You can make sure the jacks are fully in there sockets on both the speakers and the port on your computer.

The next option if checking the connections doesn't help would be to replace the wires. You may be able to purchase or order the cords from the dealer you bought them from, another dealer or the manufacturer.

Then finally if that doesn't work or you feel that either do to time, money or both it's not worth replacing the cords. You can always replace the speakers outright.

Another possibility is electromagnetic interference. A cellphone near your speakers or computer can do this as well as a few other electronic devices. Maybe moving the speakers further away from a harddrive, moving stereo or some other device that either has a broadcast signal or moving parts. As electronic devices become more and more common this becomes a bigger issue. Hope all this helps.

Scratching (static) noise coming from computer speakers

I foudn this in anther forum:
I have an ASUS motherboard P5E3 Premium. The audio that came with it was the Sound Max audio. I also noticed abnormal sounds coming from the speakers. They included sounds during hard drive activity and also with mouse movement. They were not loud but noticable. I searched all over the web but didn't find the answer. I stumbled across the fix myself. I also have vista-64. In the sound control panel > speaker properties > levels... there is a pc beep slide bar. I noticed that if it is disabled then the abnormal sound went away completely. Problem solved. Hope this helps.
