Opration could not be completed.the print spooler service is not running.

Go to start, control panel, administrative tools, services. Under services scroll down until you find Print Spooler. Under status it should say "Started". Right click on Print Spooler and select Properties. There are buttons on this page. Under Service Status if it says "stopped", click on the start button to start the service. Also, under startup type, it should say "automatic". If it does not, select automatic from the drop down box. Click on Apply and then ok.

Can't print queue

Hi there
You can try see if this may do it.

Go to Start / Run and type in "services.msc" without quotation marks, then press Enter or click OK.

In the window that opens (Services) look for "Print Spooler" on the right

Right-click "Print Spooler" and select "Properties".

Click on the "Recovery" tab and change all 3 drop-down boxes to "Restart The Service".

Make sure the 2 text boxes underneath say "1" in them.

Click Ok until you are back at the Services window, close it and you're good to go.

Go back into the properties of the "Print Spooler" tab and be sure to click Start to restart the Print Spooler service and it will restart the service immediately.

The Print spooler depends on the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service. Is this service disabled? Go to services.msc look for RPC. Check state: Automatic

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Uncleared print job HP J5780 I'm pulling my hair out trying to print to my HPJ5780. With a failed manual duplex job, I tried to delete the print job from the queue. It came up fine as deleting - however...

Try stopping the print spooler service and canelling all the documents.

The Windows Print Spooler is a Windows XP "Service". You can start/stop it via the following steps:
  1. Click on the Start button
  2. click on Run
  3. enter "services.msc" without the quotes and press Enter
  4. Scroll down to Print Spooler
  5. Single-Click on Print Spooler
  6. The details will open in the middle of the window.
    • It probably shows Start -- if so, Start it.
    • If it shows Stop and Restart, I suggest Stop it, then Start it.

This printer is compatible with Vista. Try stopping and restarting the Spooler service. Follow the following steps to do this:

1. Click on Start, in the Search box, type services.msc
2. Click on Services.msc in the pane
3. Locate "Print Spooler" service
4. Right Click on the service and click on "Stop" if the service is started and click on "Start" if the service is stopped.
5. If the service was started, right click on it again and this time click on "Start"
