I have a wireless LOGITECH mouse and the light is red a lot, and am getting a flash on the screen that the battery is very low. Matter of fact, some of the time, it doesn't work.

I changed the batteries on the mouse but will not work. Does the mouse receiver have a battery? if so how to open it? thanks

Cleaning the keys on a laptop is not a home repair job. Each ker has 2 pivots and 2 locks. They press onto a switch. If you would snap a lock or pivot, you would have problems with that key thereafter.

Turn it over and you will see a very small tab with a battery shape stamp. Push on it and turn the mouse upside down, the top will come off..

denatured alcohol with a q tip will remove the gunk..small amount just glistening..any drip inside the keyboard could short it out..only other option is to let pc repair do it, then when he screws up you can sue him for a new computer...haha..just joking..not really

SOURCE: how to change battery in

Where the Logitech logo is, press down on the plastic and pull downwards with a little force, away from the buttons. It requires 1 AA battery for the mouse. Good luck!

Logitech mouse frozen up we changed batterys in

If the mouse is freezing up though the batteries are fully charged, here's what you need to do:

1. Try to use different batteries just to make sure that it's not a power issue.
2. Connect the wireless USB dongle into different USB ports of the computer.
3. Try to connect the USB dongle in different computer and try to use the mouse (to make sure that it's not a computer issue).
4. Make sure that there's no cordless phone, cell phone and other wireless devices that might interfere the wireless signal.

The Logitech wireless mouse is running on 2.4MHz frequency, same frequency as the other wireless devices. Any wireless device might cause the mouse to freeze.

If same problem occur, then it's a hardware problem. Contact Logitech and RMA the mouse.

Thank you and good luck!

Did you try repairing the mouse with the receiver? During battery change it might have lost its pairing information.

How do i change the batteries in my logitech wireless mouse

On the bottom of the mouse, there is a tiny little button that has an image of a battery (it is very small).

Push that, and the covering that houses the batteries will pop up. You can then remove the covering easily to change the batteries.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using FixYa.

The battery is under the top side of the mouse; use the tip of your fingernail to lift it up, pop it off gently; then you will see the battery inside.
