well more than likely you closed it to hard. you will have to call a nintendo ds repair man. sorry. your reading from someone that had the same experience. i had to ship it to get a new top screen. sorry bout that.
Did your cousin ever connect it to an HD tv? If he did, this is a common
problem with it. If you operate the PS3 with a normal television set,
the ps3 will work fine. But when you connect it to an HD tv and hook up
the HDMI cables, the ps3 sets itself to work with HD tv's only. There
is a simple fix. a Hard Reset. Call sony customer suuport and tell them
that your ps3 doesn't have a menu screen. They will walk you through
the steps to restore your system. I would tell what to do myself if I
remembered what to do. But regardless, remember this, every time you
connect it to an HD tv and want to switch back to a normal tv set, you
will have to hard reset the system. Try to remember the sequence the
first time so that any other time this happens you'll know what to do.
mabey its the tv try to if u still have a white ps3 manual book look and if u can stil see the screen check all the settings i also have a samsung but all was good if its flat and has the av2 option put the ps3 on that option thats how i have mine and if u can help wit this i have a 80 gig and once im done wit playing bacwards compatibilty it gets stuck on the please wait and it starts to freeze
You should get a good surge protector. Sometimes some areas have a spike in the power. That will cause interference in the TV signal coming from your PS 3. Try out different surge protectors that should solve your problem.
