There are 2 different procedures used to reset PCMs; depending on whether the vehicle has the older OBD1 emission control system; or whether it has the OBDII system. With the older OBD1 system; the PCM could be reset by disconnecting the battery for several minutes. But the later model OBDII system cannot be reset that way. It requires connecting an OBDII compatible code scanner to the vehicle, and using the scanner to reset the PCM. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Buick 1991 Regal. It starts fine...idles normallally...but when I start driving, as soon as I come to a stop, it dies.???

First if you did not reset the computer after you replaced the throttle position sensor then do so and if that fixed the problem. If it did not help then replace the coolant temperture sensor and the coolant level sensor then reset the computer. If you replace any sensor you have to reset the computer or the computer will not reconize it as being new and won't reset the perimeters for that sensor.

Reseting coolant light

The only way to "Reset" your coolant light is to fill your coolant to the proper level. If the coolant is at the proper level and the light is still on, then you have a malfunctioning coolant level sensor.
