Does the car have an auto start, if so this could be the problem, like a possible malfunction. And yes it would be a security problem. With auto starts there is a small switch installed so you can turn it off, or reset it. Maybe try and find the switch and turn it off. If the problem stops and you can drive it i would look at replacing or repairing the auto start

It's good that you changed the fuel filter. Was it running OK until you were very low on fuel? It could be dirty injectors. Put a can of fuel system/ injector in the tank, and see if you can run it through the system.

I have a viper remote start that came with the used i car i bought, the remote start worked great for the first few months of winter, now when i start it up, it runs for 2 seconds then dies, takes up to 6...

Your alarm may have lost the tach signal, that was learned to it, when it was originally installed. That would cause the remote start to try starting the vehicle over and over again, until it finally stays running, because it can't read the engine speed to know it's running.
If you can find the valet push button switch in your vehicle, try this; Start your car with the key and immediately after it starts, press and hold that valet push button switch until the alarm led on the dash stays lit up or the park lights flash. Then, release the valet switch, shut the car off and try remote starting it. That is the procedure to re-learn the tach signal. Hope it works for you.

Car starts but dies as soon as you put it in gear

if you start the car with the remote start you can not put the car in gear until the key is inserted into the ignition and turned to the on position. the vehicle will just die if this is not done.

After installing a rs1100 remote starter the vehicle keeps giving several error codes (which I reset but they keep coming back). I'm not sure if the ignition (white) and the starter crank (orange w/black)...

If you have a 4 button remote, you must ground the black/blue hood pin wire (raise hood if hood switch is installed). Apply 12volts to blue/black brake wire (press and hold brake pedal if wire is installed). Press and hold any button on your remote until clicking and flashing stops. Unit will now respond to the remote. Remove ground from hood pin wire and voltage from brake wire. If you have a 2 button remote, hold brake and press any button on the remote until clicking and flashing stops.

How do I start my car?

If you mean to keep the car running once it's already been driven, and you want to have it remain running, but take your keys with you, put the vehicle in park, release the brake, with the key in the "run" position, push the same button you use to remote start the car. You'll have the relays click, and the parklights (if connected) will come on. Don't touch the brake!! Turn key to "lock" position, remove key. Vehicle should remain running for the set amount of time like normal remote start operation. You may now lock your car with the remote, too. When you return to your car, turn key to "run" position, when you step on brake pedal, the remote start will cease operation, and you can drive car as if you had remote started car from a standstill.

Here is page 2 of the owners manual, Hope it helps.

This will not start the vehicle if any one of the following situations exists;
The vehicle's hood lid is opened.
The gear shift selector is not in Park.
The brake pedal is depressed.
The safety control switch is in the Off position.

1. To start the vehicle, press and release the transmitter button two times within 2
seconds. The vehicle will start and remain running for the pre-programmed 5,10,15,20 minute run cycle. As a visual indication, the parking lights will flash or remain on depending on the setting by your installation center.

2. When you arrive at the vehicle, turn the ignition key to the ON position (not the spring loaded start position), then step on the brake pedal to disengage the remote starter. The
vehicle will continue to run, but now on it's own power.
NOTE: The engine will stop running before the pre-programmed run cycle has expired if you perform any one of the following functions;
-Press and the button on the keychain transmitter two times within 2 seconds.
-Depress the brake pedal.
-Open the vehicle's hood
-Place the unit in the safety control disabled mode.

The Push-Button LED control switch allows you to temporarily disable the remote starting function of the system. This recommended whenever the vehicle is being serviced. To place the system in the service mode:

1) With the system disarmed/unlocked, and the ignition switch off Press and Hold the PRLED on.
2) Turn the ignition switch on, off, on, off, on, off.
3) The LED begins to flash two short flashes followed by one long flashes and continues this pattern until returned to normal mode of operation. This puts the unit into the R/S Override mode indicating that the remote start is in the service mode and will not start from RF or any other input Posse or otherwise.
To Exit R/S Override Mode
1) With the system disarmed, Press and Hold the PRLED on.
2) Turn the ignition switch on, off, on, off, on, off.
3) The LED turns off indicating that the R/S unit is fully functional one again
