Sony BRAVIA KDL-40S2000 color problem

Try to examine the screen with the color turned off---is it a uniform color other than gray or black and white?

A photo posted somewhere with a link showing what it looks like might be helpful.

In most cases is the screen is covered with vertical lines all the way accross the screen then the T-Con module is at fault. The t-con board is replaceable without having to replace the entire LCD panel which would usually make it cheaper than replacing the TV. The part number I come up with is 1-857-213-11. If the line is present in all inputs and modes, there is a problem with the LCD Panel. The only way to fix it is to replace the whole LCD Panel which is very expensive (usually around $1000+ for 40" Sony). Unless the TV in under warranty, it is usually around the same price for a new TV.

I think DVD player is hooked with TV via component video input.

Check component video connections and make sure each color wire connect in same correspondence color in both units, TV and DVD Player.

Red to red, green to green and blue to blue.

it's in a service test mode. have you unplugged the tv? that should reset the tv..if you still have problems after ..it will need repair.

40X2000, both PS3 and DVD player are using a HDMI input and both flicker and loose signal fully, have to turn TV of then back on to get signal back. Sony say they have never heard this problem and replaced board. NOTHING fixed, still same problem.

If you are using a HD cable box or satelite with component outputs, be sure that all 3 cables ( green, red, and blue ) are making good connection.A loss of red or blue will cause color shift. Usually,if the tv menu comes up as the correct color but the picture dose'nt, it is most likely a signal problem.
