Question about Dell Dimension 4600 PC Desktop
My primary hard drive recently crashed and I had to re-install WinXP from Dell disc. I did all the XP updates (service packs, etc.), but O/S still does not recognize onboard audio. None of the downloads from Dell driver support fixed problem. Does this mean my onboard audio is no good? It is showing as default "on" in BIOS setup. Under Control Panel, there are no audio devices displayed. Do I need to install a PCI audio card in expansion port to bypass problem? I've never had an integrated device fail to recognize before, so if I can somehow "re-activate" it I would prefer this option. Assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.
