Question about Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-36HS420 36" TV
Blue and red colors work well.
Standby was flashing 4 times repeatedly. I replaced my horizontal line transformer and got my TV operating again. The standby timer light flashes 5 times repeatedly now.
It has good B/W with the color turned down so I'm pretty sure it's not CRT.
Self diagnosis service screen shows:
2: TB OCP N/A
3: TB OVP N/A
4: VSTOP 0
101: WDT 0
I've tested components on C board.(seem ok)
I've tried different cables and different video inputs.(no difference)
Diagnostic mode reset doesn't change redish picture.
I'd like to try adjusting the green color drive in the service menu.
I know how to get into the menu but how exactly do you do the adjusting once I'm in there?
Five blinks means - AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning up screen slightly.
