Question about Palm Tungsten E2 Handheld

1 Answer

E2 onscreen keyboard letters frequently (one out of three pushes) will not result in the pushed letter actually showing up as text. More often than not, nothing happens but almost as frequently, a different letter appears as text. Anyone else have this problem? Will Palm fix it free?

Try recalibrating the screen. Go to prefs and look for the screen calibration app

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How do I change to simple text type every letter and not joined

I may be wrong but your talking about predicted text right? Where you type a letter and it comes up with a word instead of the actual individual letter? - you need to change your settings in text, you can simply hold # or * on your keypad (you should see a little icon somewhere saying T9, this means predicted text) after holding one of these buttons for about a second or two, it should disappear, allowing you to type without predicted text on.

Hope this helps,

Jake

Sounds like you have 2 different problems. Your trackball probably needs to be replaced and also your keypad needs to be cleaned or replaced.

Texting

It has a qwerty keyboard/keypad so the "Caps Lock" key just below the "Tab" key on the left side of the phones keyboard/keypad and pressing it once should turn Caps Lock off. And BTW the "Shift" key should only Capitalize the next letter keyed.

To delete a letter, position the cursor just to the right of the unwanted letter and press the C-shaped "back" key in the centre bottom, between green and red phone buttons
