Question about KitchenAid KTRP22EKSS Top Freezer Refrigerator
Frig has 2 columns of shelving next to each other. Was finding water on top shelf on one side. Now finding water on both top shelves. Looks like it is dripping from 2 openings above the shelves. Inside of openings have styrafoam as a lining. Guessing those openings have something to do with the freezer as they look like they lead up to the freezer but not sure. Both frig & freezer are working properly. Water is dripping very slowly. Can't see it drip but can feel the styrafoam is damp. Help! Thanks!!

The defrost drain is frozen, you need to take the cover off inside the freezer and there will be a drain hole probably coverd with ice, you will need to pop most of the ice out first then I use a turkey baster and a tub of hot water. Squirt the hot water in the hole over and over again untill it drains. Then just wipe everything down. Problem solved.

Your defrost drain hole is frozen closed.
Remove the back freezer panel and defrost the ice with a hair dryer.
Once the drain is clear poura 1/4 cup bleach in the drain hole.

Yes, you may have two problems. The seals around the door are defective or the drain to the pan below the refrigerator is blocked or both. I will need you to read a few things that may help you and I am here to help you get this solved. Now because the water is inside the fresh food compartment I believe the drain is blocked in sid the back and rear of the refrigerator. Look at the first link below and see if this applies to you. Then read the second link and ask me questions if you need. Please rate me and Thank You, Sea Breeze

due to lots of moisture in the air or high humidity it creates extra frost in the freezing unit this creates blockage in the air flow once the ice crystals build up. the freezer is what keeps the fridge at the normal temperature if the air flow between the two are blocked in the ducting then the fridge temperature will rise the best way to solve this is to open the freezer take out the 4 screws in the back panel tilt the panel forward and blow it with a blow dryer till the ice chunk has melted its a good idea to use a towel and on the top self of the fridge to obsorb excess water this can be kinda messy. or you can unplug your fridge for about 6 or so hours. good luck hope i helped. :)
