Your hard drive has died or the had disk controller has failed.
Go into the BIOS and see if it has detected the hard disk.

You can also test the hard disk in another laptop or connect the hard drive to a USB drive adapter and plug it into the USB of a working computer. If the hard drive is OK the computer will see it as an external drive and you can see and open the files on the hard disk.

If the hard drive has failed, you can purchase a new hard drive, insert it into the laptop and install Windows on the new hard drive and you will have a working computer.

My acer aspire says no bootable device how do i fix it

Hello there.
No bootable device can, if really bad mean your hard drive is kaput and you will not be abler to recover. Thankfully this is REALLY rare.

If the machine has not had the operating system replaced since new, then you can restore from the recovery partition. Instructions for Acer all over the net but try here

On the other hand, if the Operating system HAS been replaced, then you need the installation CD for the Operating System which you have on the machine (XP or Win 7 ?) and use the REPAIR facilty

Wont rebooting

I would do a fresh install of your operational system to factory setting, if that fails the hard drive is more than likely the issue, as a last resort remove hardware and reseat it back in place might just restart.

Hp dv9208nr with vist sp2, system keeps rebooting, screen stays blank, cant even get to bios

When the files in your system are corrupted, your HP laptop would reboot automatically. When the files which are required to run the Operating System like fonts under Windows FONTS directory are been smashed then your system's Operating System will force your HP Laptops to restart continuously. Thus in such a situation you would have to change the name FONTS in the Windows directory.

Unfortunately my problem is my computer always keep on restarting and cant go on straight to windows. operating system was Windows XP.

There's a setting buried in Windows XP that tells your computer to restart when a system error occurs. If you turn off that option, you may solve your automatic reboot problem.
  • Click Start, then open Control Panel
  • Click Performance and Maintenance
  • Click System
  • Click on the Advanced Tab
  • Click Settings in the Startup and Recovery section
  • Uncheck Automatically Restart in the System failure section
